Reasons for nomination:
Reinhard Flatz is active skydiver for more than 40 years and still participant in freefall and accuracy landing competitions; he is also more than 30 years general aviation pilot. Reinhard had and still has a key role in the Aero Club efforts to regulate parachuting within national legislation and the transfer of full governmental authority for all parachuting issues from ministry of transport to the Aero Club. The transfer of responsibility has been a great success which did not only save all parachutists a lot of license fees, it also keeps the whole legal, training and safety issues in the hand of airsport experts and away from sometimes more bureaucratic officials. Reinhard has served as Meet Director at several FAI First Category Para-Ski Events which all were concluded without any protests and he has successfully participated as competitor in Para-Ski FCE’s himself.
